THE People's Bank of China's Governor Zhou Xiaochuan has been named Euromoney's Central Bank Governor of the Year 2011 for his handling of the Chinese economy and his efforts to open up China to greater international trade and investment.
The magazine said that Zhou had been "successful in steering a steady course between the conflicting tensions of economic growth and controlling inflation on Chinese mainland." Zhou received the award in Washington at the weekend.
