HSBC flash PMI in August falls to 47.8
A preliminary reading of HSBC's China Purchasing Managers' Index fell in August to 47.8, compared with final figure of 49.3 in July, HSBC Holdings PLC announced today.
The HSBC China PMI measures manufacturing activity slanted more towards private and export-oriented firms. A reading of 50 or higher generally indicates that activity is expanding.
