Over US$15b FDI

SHANGHAI attracted more than US$15 billion in foreign direct investment in the first eight months, up 13.8 percent from a year earlier and bucking the shrinking FDI trend nationwide. About 2,400 foreign-funded projects are of higher quality and more technology-driven, said Liu Jinping, chairman of the Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment. Foreign capital that has already been invested increased 20.2 percent year on year to US$10.6 billion in the first eight months.
