PMI rebounds
SHANGHAI'S industrial activities rebounded last month after six months' of contraction.
The Purchasing Managers' Index in Shanghai, a comprehensive gauge of manufacturing, was 50.4 in February, 2.7 points higher than a month earlier, the Shanghai Statistics Bureau said yesterday.
A reading above 50 means expansion and the opposite points to contraction.
Renewed production after the Spring Festival holiday contributed the most to the growth, the bureau said.
