Quality key to economic growth

CHINA will focus on boosting economic growth quality and efficiency next year, while continuing to seek progress and maintain stability, the Communist Party of China said yesterday.
The country will adapt to the “new normal,” keep economic growth within a reasonable range and emphasize transforming growth modes and economic restructuring, according to a statement issued after a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chaired by Party chief Xi Jinping.
It is vital to ensure the economy runs well in 2015, as it is the final year of China’s 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15) for economic and social development, a key year for deepening reforms, and the first of promoting the rule of law, it said.
