Rise in PE funding positive
PRIVATE equity investments are expected to rise fueled by China's strong economic growth, an industry survey disclosed yesterday.
About 79 percent of respondents said they expected investment activities to increase over the next 12 months, said Deloitte yesterday, quoting a survey of the 30 biggest private equity firms conducted in August and September.
Investments are set to climb as confidence is boosted by economic growth trends and growing interest by companies to turn to PE as a source of funding, according to the survey's findings.
"All the factors are pointing to a positive outlook for the Chinese private equity market," said Chris Cooper, a Deloitte partner.
"The market is starting to recover from the economic downturn and we have also seen improved sentiment in the stock market.''
