Shanghai posts 2.6% inflation in October

Shanghai's Consumer Price Index, the main gauge of inflation, rose 2.6 percent from a year earlier in October, the Shanghai Statistics Bureau said this morning.

The pace picked up a bit from a 2.5 percent increase in September but was much slower than the national average of 3.2 percent last month.

In the first 10 months, Shanghai's CPI expanded 2.3 percent year on year at a relatively stable pace, the bureau said.
