Shanghai posts US$1.9 billion trade deficit

SHANGHAI posted a trade deficit of US$1.9 billion in April, data from the Shanghai Statistics Bureau showed today. That compares with a deficit of US$4.0 billion in March. Exports shrank 4.1 percent from a year earlier to US$16.3 billion while imports dropped 1.6 percent to US$18.2 billion.
