Tips to help Shanghai’s global goal
SHANGHAI should become a global metropolis over the next 35 years, Vice Mayor Tu Guangshao said at a think tank summit yesterday.
“Shanghai is an open city. It has the confidence of becoming a global metropolis,” Tu told participants at the 2015 Shanghai International Think Tank Summit, which seeks advice from multinational companies, foreign chambers and academic institutions.
Speakers at the summit, whose theme was “Shanghai 2050: Vision and Challenge,” offered many suggestions covering a range of topics including circular economy, innovation, smart city, health care, education, energy and consumption.
Chen Yougang, principal in McKinsey & Co’s Shanghai office, said the city should nurture entrepreneurship and innovation as well as promote efficient investment in technology.
