Trade Reaches US$44.26b
TRADE between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan reached US$44.26 billion in the first four months, up 67.9 percent on year, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The figure included US$8.52 billion of Chinese mainland exports to Taiwan, up 63.8 percent on year, and US$35.74 billion of mainland imports from the island, an increase of 68.9 percent, according to a report posted by the ministry on its Website.
From January to April, the Chinese mainland approved 822 projects with investment from Taiwan, and recorded an inflow of US$720 million from Taiwan.
The Chinese mainland is Taiwan's largest export market.
The Chinese mainland's trade volume with Hong Kong from January to April rose 31.4 percent year on year.
