SHANGHAI set up an international products trade center in ShanghaiMart yesterday to create a permanent platform for the display of foreign products. It is a practical step to bolster imports and make Shanghai closer to a global trading center, said Zhang Xinsheng, vice chairman of the Shanghai Commission of Commerce at the opening ceremony. Products including carpets from Turkey, handbags from Italy and various consumer goods from Japan have been showcased. The commission said it welcomes all kinds of companies to make good use of the platform.
