WTO members pleased with China's progress
The fourth trade policy review of China by members of the World Trade Organization concluded with the majority appreciating the policies and practices of the world's largest exporter, the Ministry of Commerce said today.
Members participating in the review, which takes place every two years, commented on a wide range of issues including China's trade development and related policies to the country's contribution to the world economy.
"They on general appreciate China's achievement in economic growth and social development, especially on our efforts to balance trade and reduce poverty," the ministry said in a statement.
"They also sing highly of China's ability of maintaining fast growth to make a positive contribution to the world economy, which has been struggling in a downturn," the statement said.
