Western China International Fair slated for October
Online Edition
THE 15th Western China International Fair will be held in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, in October, according to organizers.
The fair is a state-level international exposition encompassing 12 provinces in western China. It serves as an important platform for promoting trade and investment in the area dubbed China's new growth engine.
Last year, more than 60,000 people from 106 countries attended the fair, which secured 462 investment projects worth 563 billion yuan (US$74.5 billion).
Yang Qinglong, deputy director general of the Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs, said this year's fair will be better as there will be improved services, more seminars and an increase in attendance.
