CNPC Raises Shareholding in PetroChina
PETROCHINA Co Ltd's parent, China National Petroleum Corp, bought 31.1 million yuan-denominated shares, equivalent to a 0.017 percent stake, in the company on Wednesday, PetroChina said in a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange yesterday.
CNPC owned approximately 86.3 percent of PetroChina after the purchase, according to the statement.
CNPC intends to continue to increase its shareholding in PetroChina, either in its own name or through other parties, in the secondary market, the statement said. CNPC will buy up to 2 percent of PetroChina's shares within 12 months of the acquisition on Wednesday and won't sell any stock over that period.
