CNPC wraps up
CHINA National Petroleum Corp, parent of PetroChina, said it has wrapped up early-stage construction of the country's biggest underground natural gas storage program.
CNPC has decided to construct the Changqing Oilfield Natural Gas Storage Project in northern Shaanxi Province, it yesterday said in China Petroleum Daily, a company newspaper. The storage will have a capacity of 12 billion cubic meters and will be four times the country's existing biggest storage for natural gas.
Xi'an Changqing Technology Engineering, a unit of CNPC, was in charge of the concept design of the project and early-stage assessment, the report said. It did not unveil a timetable for the project or its investment.
