Electricity use may rise

CHINA'S power consumption is expected to rise 4 to 6 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the same period last year as the country's economy stabilizes, the China Electricity Council said yesterday. Electricity consumption increased 2.9 percent in September from a year earlier to 405.1 billion kwh. The rate was down 0.7 percentage point from August.
