Electricity use rises 3.3%
CHINA’S consumption of electricity grew 3.3 percent year on year in November to 463 billion kilowatt-hours, the National Energy Administration said yesterday.
The figure brought total power use during the first 11 months to more than 5 trillion kWh, up 3.7 percent year on year.
During the January-November period, power use in primary industries totaled 92.5 billion kwh, up 0.4 percent; secondary industries used 3.67 trillion kWh, up 3.8 percent; and the tertiary industry consumed 607 billion kWh, up 6.1 percent.
Residential power use grew 2 percent year on year to 638 billion kWh, the data showed.
During the first 11 months, newly installed power generation capacity hit 67 million kilowatts.
