Higher output
CHINA Petroleum and Chemical Corp, the nation's largest oil refiner, yesterday said it processed 211 million tons of crude oil in 2010, up an annual 13.16 percent as the Chinese economy grew quickly.
Sinopec, as the company is better known, produced 10.5 percent more diesel and 19.54 percent more kerosene to cope with surging demand as the government rationed electricity to meet energy-saving goals.
The company produced 330 million barrels of crude oil last year, slightly higher than in 2009. The figure was unaudited.
Its natural gas output grew 47.63 percent year on year to 12.5 billion cubic meters.
