Oil Output May Rise

CHINA'S crude oil output may rise to about 215 million metric tons this year as prices are likely to average US$100 a barrel, spurring higher production, said Che Changbo, deputy director of the Ministry of Land and Resources's oil and gas strategy center.

The country's proven geological coal-bed methane reserves currently stand at 283 billion cubic meters, and are mainly located in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Liaoning provinces, Che said at a conference in Beijing yesterday.
