Partnership pact
NEW Zealand clean technology company LanzaTech will work with Baosteel Group Corp to commercialize its technologies for producing fuel ethanol from steel mill off-gases.
Under a partnership pact signed on Sunday, Baosteel and LanzaTech will build a demonstration plant at one of Baosteel's steel mills, which would be easily adapted toward the construction of the first fully commercial plant in China. The demonstration facility is set to start operations in the second half of 2011.
