Russian oil arrives

CHINA has received 1.32 million tons of crude oil from Russia via a newly-commissioned pipeline, meeting targets, according to China National Petroleum.

The pipeline, running more than 1,000 kilometers from the Russian city of Skovorodino, near China's border, to Daqing in Heilongjiang Province, started formal operation this year after two months of trials.

Russia agreed to supply China with oil for 20 years under an oil-for-loans deal, with full contracted volume of 15 million tons a year using the pipeline.
