CHINA Shenhua Energy Co, the country's biggest coal producer, yesterday posted a 25 percent gain in third-quarter profit after increasing output to benefit from higher prices.
Net income rose to 12.3 billion yuan (US$1.9 billion) from 9.9 billion yuan a year earlier, the company said in a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange. Shenhua increased coal production by 22 percent to 69.5 million tons in the period, according to company filings.
