Sinopec gets nod

CHINA Petroleum and Chemical Corp, Asia's biggest oil refiner, said its unit and a company based in Hubei Province received state approval for a 423-million-yuan (US$62 million) ethanol plant. Sinopec Jingmen Co and Hubei Jinlongquan Group Co will jointly construct the 100,000-ton-a-year plant, Sinopec, as China Petroleum is known, said in a statement on its Website yesterday.
