Vanadium project
AUSTRALIAN Reed Resources Ltd said it was in discussion with China's Non-ferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co to develop a vanadium project in Western Australia.
The Barrambie vanadium mine is considered as one of the world's highest grade vanadium deposits and average earnings annually are estimated to be more than A$100 million (US$87 million) at the current vanadium price, the Australian company said in a statement on its Website.
Reed has agreed to deal exclusively with NFC over engineering procurement, construction contract and financing assistance for Barrambie until August 31, 2010.
The company also disclosed the discussions are at a preliminary stage and there is no certainty that a transaction will eventually be reached.
