Air Liquide net up
FRENCH multinational Air Liquide yesterday said its first-half net profit rose 12.5 percent year on year to 849 million euros (US$932.5 million), supported by revenue gains in China.
Total revenue for the period increased 8.1 percent year on year to 8.1 billion euros, as positive exchange rates helped to offset a dip in energy prices, while sales of gas products and services, its core business, rose 7.8 percent from the first half of last year to 7.3 billion euros, the company said.
Chairman and CEO Benoit Potier said the strong first-half performance was bolstered by revenue from China, where its electronics units reported “double-digit” growth and its large industries gained 2.6 percent.
“The investments made over the period, the signing of new contracts and the commissioning of new units are paving the way for growth,” he said.
