Aircraft makers lead gainers in Shanghai stock trading

SHANGHAI stocks maintained an upward trend in midday trading, helped by a surge in aircraft manufacturers. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.79 percent to 2,328.00 points.

The Air Traffic Management Committee announced on September 11 that China will reform the general aviation sector starting October, aiming to meet increasing market demands and increase the profits of aviation companies.

Statistics from Civil Aviation Administration showed that, by the end of 2013, the number of general aviation companies had grown 15 percent compared with 2005.

Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industry surged the daily limit of 10 percent to 27.58 yuan (US$4.52), while Sichuan Chengfa Aero Science & Technology rose 9.42 percent to 25.68 yuan.
