Aviation firms lift shares
SHANGHAI stocks jumped yesterday, led by the aviation sector amid hopes that an upcoming reform will boost earnings of companies in the industry.
The Shanghai Composite Index surged 1.47 percent to 2,343.58 points.
Aviation-related companies may benefit from a reform in October to ease restrictions on low-altitude flights. The reform also seeks to help aviation companies increase their profits.
Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industry rose by the daily limit of 10 percent to 27.58 yuan (US$4.49), Hafei Aviation Industry added 8.14 percent to end at 36.28 yuan, while Sichuan Chengfa Aero Science & Technology gained 8.05 percent to close at 25.38 yuan.
