Bank complaints

COMPLAINTS about banking services in Shanghai declined in the first half of this year after the regulator earlier urged banks to improve services.

The regulator received 1,970 complaints in the first six months, a 26 percent drop from the same period in 2011, the Shanghai Bureau of the China Banking Regulatory Commission said yesterday. Customers complained most about credit card services, bancassurance and banking service charges. The proportion of credit card and bancassurance complaints picked up 4 and 4.2 percentage points respectively in the first six months from the previous period.
