MONEY deposited in banks by Macau residents decreased 0.3 percent in May from the previous month to 211.1 billion patacas (US$26.3 billion), according to figures released yesterday by the Monetary Authority of Macau.
Of the total resident deposits, pataca deposits and Hong Kong dollar deposits declined at respective rates of 0.8 percent and 1.1 percent, while other foreign currency deposits increased by 2.8 percent, the figures showed.
Meanwhile, non-resident deposits decreased 2.7 percent month to month to 71.3 billion patacas.
Of the total resident deposits, pataca deposits and Hong Kong dollar deposits declined at respective rates of 0.8 percent and 1.1 percent, while other foreign currency deposits increased by 2.8 percent, the figures showed.
Meanwhile, non-resident deposits decreased 2.7 percent month to month to 71.3 billion patacas.
