Brand license company eyes OTC listing
Skynet Brand Management Co expects to be the first brand licensing company to list on Shanghai’s over-the-counter equity exchange by June next year as it seeks funds to expand its licensing business in China, the firm said yesterday.
The funds raised will help the eight-year-old Shanghai-based company — brand manager of South Korea’s Teddy Bear Collection and popular domestic cartoon series Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf — to expand its business in movies, coffee outlets and theme exhibitions
“China is the key market for the brand licensing business on a global scale,” said Zhang Lihua, chief executive officer of Skynet.
She forecasts retail sales of the Teddy Bear Collection brand at 1 billion yuan (US$157 billion) by the end of 2015.
Zhang said the firm eyes bigger fundraising opportunities after the OTC listing.
Skynet is the first Chinese brand licensing company to accomplish three rounds of fundraising so far.
