HAITONG Securities Co plans to trade stock index futures on a proprietary and an asset management basis, it said in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange yesterday.
The brokerage will trade index futures for hedging purposes initially after gaining regulatory approval, the statement said. It will limit index futures and equity investments to 60 percent of its net assets.
