Chinese retailers in need of entry-level staff, survey shows
CHINESE retailers hope to recruit more junior staff such as salesmen or cashiers as retailers' fast expansion led to a strong hiring demand for entry-level employees, a latest survey shows today.
More than 64 percent of retailers said they hope to employ graduates from vocational schools that have professional certificates, according to a joint survey released today by China Chain Store & Franchise Association and Walmart China.
At the meantime, 96 percent of retailers said they're willing to collaborate with vocational schools, such as offering trainee or internship positions to ensure they can hire eligible graduates that fit their hiring needs.
Hiring demand are the highest for vocational school graduates, which account for 74 percent of total number of potential positions, according to the survey, which covers 151 domestic retailers such as department stores, hypermarkets and convenience stores.
