Corruption concerns
CHINESE employees are more concerned about corruption and bribery than the Asia-Pacific average as the government’s anti-corruption campaign sweeps across industries, Ernst & Young said in a survey yesterday.
It found 80 percent of the respondents on China’s mainland said they think corruption and bribery are common in the market, compared with the average 60 percent for 14 Asia-Pacific countries and regions.
The 2015 EY’s APAC Fraud Survey covered 1,508 respondents, of which 250 were from the mainland.
A quarter of the Chinese respondents were from private firms, 40 percent from state-owned enterprises, and the rest from listed companies, EY said.
