Credit crunch unlikely
CHINA is unlikely to see another credit crunch similar to the one in June last year, said Lian Ping, chief economist at the Bank of Communications.
“China’s monetary policy this year is pro-growth,” Lian said. “The market is not short of liquidity at the moment, and commercial banks are very cautious of any risks concerning credit.”
In June last year, China suffered a mini credit crisis due to more fiscal spending, higher reserve requirement and growing market demand for loans.
