CHINA’S top customs regulator said it is considering promoting quicker clearance measures initiated by the Shanghai pilot free trade zone to the entire country. Pilot reforms to simplify the customs clearance process will first be introduced to special economic zones nationwide, Zheng Yuesheng, spokesman of the General Administration of Customs, said. In April, Shanghai’s customs authorities launched 14 pilot measures to cut clearance costs and improve efficiency of the customs process in the city’s pilot free trade zone.
