COMPANIES from Shanghai and Luzhou, a city in Sichuan Province, signed agreements for nine projects worth 7.46 billion yuan (US$1.1 billion) yesterday in Shanghai. The projects covered the production of alcohol, e-commerce, logistics, drone manufacturing and construction of theme parks in Luzhou. Luzhou is located along the ancient Silk Road and is important for China’s “Belt and Road” initiative. Luzhou’s economy grew 11 percent in 2014 to become the fastest growing city in Sichuan.
