Demand for accountants rising in China, CPA Australia says
CPA Australia, the world's seventh largest accounting body, said demand for accountants is rising in China as the country continues to power Asia's economic growth.
The organization has expanded its Shanghai office threefold this week and will open a new one in Chengdu to meet rising demand. It also opened an office in Guangzhou last week.
John Cahill, President and Board Chairman of CPA Australia, said the organization still sees China as a major source of business growth, and increasing expansion in China will require accountants to better master international practices.
He added that a recent order from China authorities to localize the workforce of the Big Four accounting firms wouldn't lower the quality of Chinese accounting standards.
CPA Australia currently has 14,500 members in the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
