VISA International is targeting travel patterns of affluent Chinese as it fights with China UnionPay Co to tap the rising bank card-based consumption.
China UnionPay has speeded up its network expansion overseas as more affluent Chinese travel. Spending by Chinese travelers grew 91 percent in 2010 on the growing number of affluent shoppers and the yuan's rise.
Visa International has teamed up with luxury hotels to attract Chinese card holders.
