Firm to double headcount
ERNST & Young will at least double its advisory team in one to two years to tap into a rising Chinese economy, a senior partner said yesterday in Shanghai, adding that its revenue will also rise at least as much.
"We plan to double our business in the next one to two years in China," said Nigel Knight, managing partner, advisory services, Far East Leader of Ernst & Young. "By doubling our business I mean at least double our staff and I think our revenue will more than double if we can accomplish our hiring target."
The accounting firm has 800 employees in its advisory business in seven offices in China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Its revenue has risen more than 40 percent this year due to the Chinese economy.
