Hang Seng Bank names new boss for mainland

Hang Seng Bank Ltd, the Hong Kong lender controlled by HSBC Holdings Inc, said yesterday that it appointed Gordon Lam as new chief executive of its subsidiary on Chinese mainland while his predecessor Dorothy Sit will remain vice chair of Hang Seng China.

Sit was also appointed as the head of China business of Hang Seng Bank last Thursday along with Lam’s appointment, the lender said in an emailed announcement last night.

Lam, 54, joined Hang Seng China in 2012 as deputy chief executive. Prior to that, he worked for HSBC for more than 20 years.
