Hongkou welcomes Israeli firms

ISRAELI companies are welcomed to invest in a science and technology center in Shanghai’s Hongkou District.

The Dabaishu Science and Technology Innovative Center includes an incubation center and laboratories studying energy dissipation and industrial bacteria strains in cooperation with Fudan and Tongji universities.

The center will also offer supporting services in intellectual property and risk assessment to institutes and companies based in the center, the district’s science and technology commission said yesterday.

Haifa, a city in Israel, signed an agreement with the center to establish the Hicenter to help Israeli high-technology companies invest in Shanghai yesterday.

Arnon Perlman, consul general of Israel in Shanghai, said the Hicenter will allow Israeli companies to get a foothold in China while helping Chinese firms to apply to enter Israel.
