ICBC rights issue

THE Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd, the world's biggest bank by market value, has raised HK$13.04 billion (US$1.68 billion) from the Hong Kong portion of its rights issue, the bank said yesterday in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The Beijing-based lender said it sold 3.74 billion H shares at HK$3.49 each in the rights issue, which was 99.05 percent subscribed.

In November, the bank said it raised 33.67 billion yuan (US$5.1 billion) from the Shanghai part of its rights issue.
