Insurer expands
HSBC Life Insurance Co is offering pension funds and severe disease health policies as it expands in China. The joint venture life insurer is eying financial protection demand for retirement, education, health care and wealth management from China's growing number of affluent people.
The Shanghai-based insurer, set up in August 2009, is a latecomer in China. HSBC has ambitions to expand its own insurance business in China, besides its holding in Ping An Insurance (Group) Co, China's second-biggest insurer.
