Italy eyes rising business with new office
THE China-Italy Chamber of Commerce yesterday relocated its Shanghai office to a bigger premise that will provide tailored services for smaller companies amid increased bilateral business ties.
The new office on Shaanxi Road N. will provide special consultation desks for small and medium-sized firms and also better serve the interests of Italian companies taking their first steps in the Chinese market, the chamber said.
“We will hire more people and host more activities to interact with the local business communities in the new office,” said Franco Cutrupia, chairman of the chamber.
He said it plans to open desks in Chongqing, Nanjing and Suzhou in the near future.
While attending the new office’s opening ceremony, Italian Ambassador Alberto Bradanini said he expects closer business ties between the two countries.
“With the world economy recovering, Italy and China will see more bilateral trade and investment,” Bradanini said, adding that Italy is also strong in manufacturing.
Separately, Italian helicopter maker AgustaWestland yesterday said it will open its Shanghai office in cooperation with Sino-US Intercontinental.
