JPMorgan opens branch in Shenzhen for corporate clients

JPMorgan opened a new branch in Shenzhen today, its eighth branch in China’s mainland, to provide corporate banking services for clients in the Pearl River Delta region.

The new branch will provide yuan and foreign currency financial products and services, including cash man-agement, trade finance, liquidity management, risk management and foreign exchange, the bank said in a state-ment today.

“Shenzhen is one of China’s fastest growing cities that has first class infrastructure in terms of technology, trade and transportation capabilities. As the city and the region continue to grow so too will the demand for capital and financial services,” said Greg Guyett, chief executive officer of JPMorgan for China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

“The opening of our Shenzhen branch demonstrates our confidence in the Pearl River Delta region’s future economic prospects and in China’s steady economic growth. JPMorgan is committed to supporting the Pearl River Delta’s prosperity by offering comprehensive financial expertise to businesses in the region.”

The bank appointed Lillian Xia the branch manager of the new outlet. Prior to this role, Xia was a senior corpo-rate banker with JPMorgan’s global corporate bank division, based in Shanghai.

Headquartered in Beijing, the Chinese unit of JPMorgan now operates eight branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Harbin, Suzhou and Shenzhen.
