Japan eyes biggest delegation
JAPAN is expected to send its biggest business delegation to China in November to deepen bilateral economic ties, according to the Japan Business Federation yesterday.
It will be the first time for JBF, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Japan-China Economic Association to send a joint delegation to China.
JBF, also known as Keidanren, comprises large leading companies, while the chamber of commerce represents small and medium-sized firms.
Sadayuki Sakakibara, chairman of Keidanren, Japan’s biggest business lobby, said sending a joint delegation rather than separate teams will create more possibilities to build relationships with Chinese companies.
“I hope we will be able to send the message that the Japanese business community seeks to deepen exchanges as a whole,” Sakakibara said.
The high-level economic discussions between China and Japan have been held annually since 1975.
