MNCs to be awarded for innovative, social ideas
BEING innovative, sustainable and practical are standards valued most in multinational companies, said Shen Guolin, deputy director of Center for Think-Tanks Research and Management in Shanghai, which is responsible for an awards program for science and innovation.
“Some well-known academicians, experts in management and media elites have agreed to join the program as advisers and judges,” said Shen, who is also an associate professor at Fudan University’s Journalism School.
Last month, Shanghai launched the program “Innovation and Development: Multinational Companies in Shanghai” to select 40 winners in multi-national corporations in the fields of innovative policies, local cooperation, talent development, corporate social responsibilities, as part of its efforts to encourage innovation in Shanghai.
The program is organized by Shanghai Daily newspaper and Eastday.com and sponsored by the Shanghai Information Office and the Shanghai Commission of Commerce.
Multinational companies, whose innovative practices are in line with the city’s economic and social development plans, can apply for the honors. The applications will be reviewed by an expert panel from the center.
The finalists will be picked after their evaluations and on the results of an online public voting. The winners will be announced at a forum in October.
