Merchants Bank in alliance with Unicom, China Eastern

CHINA Merchants Bank has joined hands with China Unicom and China Eastern Airlines in marketing and resource sharing to improve the experience of their customers.
The Shenzhen-based bank is the sixth-biggest lender and one of the leading retail banks in the country.
CMB President Ma Weihua said today that it's not the first time the bank signed a strategic alliance agreement with China Unicom and China Eastern. They already have cooperation in credit card services and mobile payments.
"Cross-industry alliance brings synergy and complementary effects," Ma said. "All the three companies have large customer base, extensive product lines and a wide range of marketing and servicing channels. And the key is we all rely on information technology and data management."
The need to attract high-end customers united the three companies. The bank said that an integrated banking, telecom and aviation platform can offer customers the one-stop services and largely improve the customer experience and promote the growth of the three partners.
