More trade rows

Chinese exporters may face increasing trade friction in more sectors next year amid escalating trade protectionism and an uncertain economic recovery, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers’ report yesterday. “Both developed countries and emerging markets are taking action to restrict imports and encourage their own exports,” says Damon Paling, PwC China Trade and Customs partner. “These trade protectionism policies are often enforced amid a severe economic downturn.” He expects the trade disputes to expand from the solar and telecom in China to more sectors and cover all overseas markets.
