Munich keeps target

MUNICH Re, the world's largest reinsurer, maintained its full-year profit target at 2 billion euros (US$2.45 billion) despite the losses from the devastating earthquakes in Chile as well as the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Chief Executive Officer Nikolaus von Bomhard said yesterday.
The first-quarter performance beat expectations, but achieving the yearly goal set in January will be difficult due to uncertainties about the looming hurricane season, Bomhard said.
